  1. As long as she’s eating normally when her mother is there, leave her be — she’ll eventually stop when she realizes that she’s not getting milk. It’s not hurting anything, and you’re likely to cause more harm either to her or her brother by using some kind of spread or cream to try to stop the behavior.

  2. no just try to keep them seperate because is you make this male (teet) tase bad then the puppy thinks that the moms teet will taste bad as well. So if you the pup doesnt breast feed on the mom the pup will die. Just try to keep the two pups seperate and it will be ok.

  3. Omg, lmao! It’s cool. My aunt’s a poodle breeder and they do that. She just lets them be, but if it bothers you, put some soap on there. A little soap couldn’t hurt. LOL!
    Good luck!

    is this serious?

why would you put something on a dogs penis to make it taste bad? that is animal cruelty!

  5. It is not a big deal. It is actually pretty cute. Eventually she will stop. As of now, it won’t harm either one. Make her spend more time with her mother. Dogs aren’t humans, let them be. It is more gross to put something on it so that it can taste bad. It is also mean. What if he wants to lick it himself?

    its only disturbing to you.

  7. if you make it taste bad to the sister, youll make it taste bad to the brother and the mother who need to clean it

Just keep taking her away. Maybe give her a pacifier (seriously). The problem is that the puppy suckling on her brother’s penis can cause it to become red and sore. This often happens in litters of orphaned pups and they have to be kept in separate little boxes as they will suckle tails, ear, genitals, etc. So watch for redness or chapping and go ahead and get the little girl pup a pacifier.

I cannot see anything disgusting in this behaviour whatsoever. It is quite normal and will not harm the male puppy. I have seen this so many times in my litters. Puppies need to suckle so it’s natural for them to look elsewhere if Mum isn’t around. It just doesn’t happen with the girls either. I have seen my male puppies do it to each other.

I wouldn’t get too uptight about it, it will soon stop. If you haven’t weaned them yet now might be a good time to start introducing them to soaked puppy food and also leaving lots of hard puppy toys around for them to chew on. Still allow the Dam access to her puppies whenever she is full of milk and feels the need to visit them. She will soon tell them when she has had enough of them by growling at them to back off. It is cruelty to leave her with the puppies for long periods when her milk is diminishing.

    Enjoy your puppies!

Pick the puppy up and move her, she doesn’t know what she is doing.

  12. This happens in any litter, and is just a part of raising a litter. . Not disgusting.
It is time to begin feeding your litter. I always begin feeding the litter at 24 days old.
I buy canned goat milk (same place and shelf as regular canned milk) and mix it with equal parts HOT water. Pour this over puppy kibble, and allow to sit until the kibble is mushy, or put in blender until it is very mushy. Always serve it warm, to avoid colic ( tummy ache)

Put your fingers in the warm mush, and offer it to your puppies from your finger tips. Once they begin eating this, you can put it into a flat pan or plate. I like glass pie plates. Allow them to get in the dish if they want. Don’t worry about the mess, as mom will be happy to clean it up. She will clean it from the pups and from the surfaces.

Once they begin eating the mush, mom will clean up their poop less, so it will be up to you to clean their bedding two or more times daily, depending on how many are in your litter.

I use this as the opportunity to begin potty training them, as they will all poop just a few minutes after eating. When they have finished eating, take them out of the nest, and to the area you want them to poop. By the time they are 8 weeks old, they will be pretty well potty trained, and the new owners will love you for it!

  13. The little female puppy has no idea what she is doing, she is just looking for milk. After a time, when no milk comes she should stop. . . as she gets older. They will try to get hold of anything that slightly resembles the milk jug. No big deal.

This is very normal behavior. The puppy is still very young & will stop as she gets older. It is just like a baby sucking his/her fist or fingers to help them relax.
